We will discuss the transition from elementary to middle school, helpful hints for getting middle school students who are blind or low vision involved with their peers, and the skills these students will need to master so they are ready for the move to high school. Sheila Koenig, Transition Specialist for the state of Minnesota, will discuss what families should know in order to help students transition smoothly from middle to high school, how to help blind and low vision high school students gain work experiences, and what skills these students should be working on in order to be successful in work or college.

of June 30, in conjunction with the National Convention of the National Federation of the Blind." But, what is the National Convention of the National
Federation of the Blind? What is the annual conference of the National Organization of Parents of Blind Children? What do these events have to offer your
family?

Mark Riccobono, President of the National Federation of the Blind, gave his perspective on the value of the National Convention for all members of families
of blind children.    Terri Rupp parent of blind child and a blind adult herself shared her convention experaince.
