IEP Information and Advocacy

Through literature, phone consultations, and local blind members who volunteer as advocates, the NOPBC is an unbiased source of information and support for parents who need help and advice about IEPs and educational services for blind children. See your local contact.

We also encourage you to join the NOPBC BLIND KID ListServ, through which you can follow and/or initiate moderated discussions of educational issues. Recent topics include Braille (education, changes in the literary code, reading speed, music code, ideas for helping your child), science and math education, accessible technology (choices, training, games), and accommodations for state-mandated tests.
