2021 NOPBC Conference at the NFB Convention
Welcome to the 2021 NOPBC Conference information page.
Each year, the National Organization of Parents of Blind Children (NOPBC) hosts an annual conference within the NFB National Convention. Federation members and friends of all ages will gather to learn and share, reconnect with old friends, and form new friendships. The NOPBC annual conference includes many sessions and workshops on a wide variety of interesting topics.
The 2021 NOPBC Conference will be held virtually and will be held July 6-10, 2021, in conjunction with the Annual Convention of the National Federation of the Blind. Find out more at Empowering Our Children: Maximizing Skills, Opportunities, and Dreams.
This year, registration for the NOPBC Conference has been embedded within the NFB Convention Registration. Both events are free, and now you need only register once (please check the box labeled "I would like to participate in the NOPBC Conference" to add NOPBC Conference registration to your NFB Convention registration). Register at the 2021 NFB Convention Registration page.
The NOPBC Annual Conference includes:
Workshops – we hold concurrent sessions that address the needs of blind and low-vision children at different ages and with additional disabilities.
Youth Track – Youth Track is open all blind and low vision students, children of blind adults, and sighted siblings aged 11-18. Pre-registration is required.
Kid Track – Kid Track offers activities for youth, ages 2-10. We will hold one hour of programming each day the week prior and the week of the conference/convention.
Family Game Night – A great gathering of playing new or family favorite accessible games.
Exhibitor Open House – Learn the latest on technology and other organizational resources
NOPBC Annual Meeting – Keynote address by the 2021 Distinguished Educator of Blind Children; Kid Panel; Parent Power; Business meeting; Elections, and more.
In addition to the sessions for families and educators of blind children, registration also includes access to the National Federation of the Blind such as the general sessions. Throughout general sessions you'll hear how the National Federation of the Blind is helping us tear down the obstacles that separate blind people from our dreams.
